I think two artists that do really interesting things with their sounds are Queen and David Bowie. Another song that came to mind for me was David Bowie's "Heroes". When he recorded it he used a lot of different techniques to get interesting sounds. For the main guitar part he recorded a bunch of different random ideas on guitar and then at the end combined them all to get a really cool unique texture between all the different guitar lines. It also really interested me how when recorded vocals he had 2 microphones setup in this really large space with a noise gate on it. So when he would sing quietly it would record on a closer more intimate microphone but whenever he would sing louder it would switch to a further microphone in the room to get a really big reverberating sound.

I think another artist has a unique style of composing music is Anderson Paak. Some of his most interesting songs to listen to are put me thru and tints.

I tend to find David Bowie really has a lot of cool little things in his songs to atract his listener. For example in Space Oddityhe comes from nothing  and you can imagine the rocket lanching heading to space. Things like that I really enjoy listening too.

In the majority of situations, what makes any given song interesting is the beat and music behind the lyrics. In fact, most people seem to determine their first impression of a song simply based on how it sounds, and Finneas has used this observation to his advantage.

I would say AJR is similar in production style. Their song Don't Throw Out My Legos is really interestingly made. For example, they have the sound of keys dropping and other random things sprinkled throughout this piece. When I saw them in concert, they showed each random cool thing that went into the song one by one.

Taylor Swift and her new version of Love Story(I don't typically listen to her but the remix by Elvira is really well done)

Melanie Martinez is another artist that uses sounds from real life within her songs, similar to how Finneas used the matches and cross-walk sounds in his songs. Different styles of production are what make songs interesting to listen to. I really enjoy the production styles of artists like Cavetown, Joji, and Clairo.

In Joji's "worldstar money" he uses this track of people yelling and arguing and I have always felt like I was listening to it from down the street and Joji later released the audio was from a fight Joji recorded when he was younger.

I think Olivia Rodrigo's driver's license also uses car sounds in the beginning.
