I have heard that Kraftwerk cited Bach as an inspiration for some of their music, which I can definitely hear. I personally don't like Bach's music that much, but I can see how his music is universally appealing and easy to incorporate into modern tunes.

Fun fact about Bach: he lost both of his parents when he was just 10 years old. I think Bachs music also widly influenced church music.
