Classical Jazz '05

Be at Practice by 3:05 or You're Off the Team

It starts with the walk,

Hair whipping in the wind

Down sidewalks and crosswalks.

Unlock the doors

And throw the bags in.

We all settle down

Seats warming bare skin,

Cold and tough from the building.

We heat up and thaw out

And hit the brakes

While we escape the maze

And try not to speed

But there’s gravity working against us.

You turn up the volume

To your favorite ‘90s song

And maybe sing along for a minute.

But then the light turns green

And you get back to your point.

Cause every seat belt’s filled with a different story.

We talk about our days,

Our nights, and our lives,

Letting buses pass by.

For ten minutes of the day

We’re uncensored.
