Good Morning
It’s not a good morning
because now I’m awake
it’s not the first period bell
it’s a grade 4 earthquake
it’s I’m stuck in a room
with people I don’t know
it’s gosh we have to learn things now
I can’t let my mind go
I want everyone
to look at me
to cure my
insecurity
I want everyone to listen
without me saying a word
reserved and bone-silent
I’m just dying to be heard
It’s a brilliant lunchbreak
because I can let go
it’s my mind is racing so bad -
it’s I can’t feel my toes
It’s me sitting wishing I
lived as loud as I dress
it’s movie-inspired day-dreams not
studying for the test.

this poem is really relatable, because we've all been there, and even if not everyone feels the way the writer feels, the still can understand what that writer is feeling.

Wow Alyssa, I really enjoyed this! My favorite part is: I can't let my mind go I want everyone to look at me to cure my insecurity.

I love this poem. No wonder you write songs. Write more, please. By the way, you have an impeccable fashion sense.
