Everything is a remix 2... what are creating with music (is it more of the same?). Can you make a new song today, or is it a remix of other stuff. What is an example of a remix or of a song that is completely new!

Given that the concept of music has been around for so unbelievably long, it makes sense that there are not nearly as many (possibly not any) new routes to explore when composing a song. The abundance of remixes in today's world is not unexpected--there is so little opportunity to truly discover a brand new musical tactic.

I think everything is definitely a remix of everything else. Theres is nothing new as everything inspires a new thing, even outside of music. I can't think of a song that is entirely new but I don't think thhat decreases it's value.

i dont think any music can totally be 100% original anymore because music has been around for so long that everything has been done in one way or another

New songs can very easily be made in the classical world. However, with more modern music, not repeating is almost impossiblein my opinion.

Tbh this isn't super suprising. I'm personally not super creative so if I had to compose something it wouldn't be made up of new ideas.

Since music has been around for such a long time, it really's not a surprise that almost everything has been done before.  There are only so many things you can do with 7 note names.

I don't think of many things as ar emix, but I suppose almost everything could be classified this way through some point of view. This is only because theres almost no way to be origional anymore since most abilities and things have been found out already.

This doesn't surprise me at all because every person in this world has had music in some way.  So, having it remixed isn't a huge surprise.  A song I think of that is very famous is "I will Always Love you".  However, it was remixed by Whitney Houston, but actually sung originally by Dolly Parton.  Most people think that Houston  sung originally, but she didn't.  A good if example of a famous remix.

I think everthing has to be a remix at this point, considering all the musicians that have lived to this day. Also I believe it depends on the person whether or not somthing is a remix; its probably why copyright rules are so complex. It depends on that specific person's ear and what they are hearing.

I think that everything is a remix of what has come before, since there are only a limited amount of chords and certain melodies, structures, and chords that were popular in the past are bound to reemerge again in the future since the next generation of music-writers learn to write music by listening to older music.

I think you can definitely create a new song even though most melodies and chord progressions have been used already. It should not be considered a remix if the similarities are purely coincidental. I used to always think that it was impossible to write a new song until an artist released something that I had never heard anything similar to.

I think no matter what is done in today's world, it will always be a remix. Music has been around for to long to not be repeated. I think it has just transformed in todays music and will continue to transform from original pieces.

I think that there have been so many songs written that it is extremely difficult to be truly original artistically in this day and age. Originallity I believe now is adding spins and subverting expectations to already developed artistic ideas.

At this point there is so much music that it is impossible to make a song that is completely unique. Especially since we are surrounded by music all the time and the sounds are engraved in our brain it is hard to make a new idea.
