In the Shadow of Vesuvius

 

Artist: Grace McConnell School: North Allegheny

Notes: I was in Italy this past summer and my goodness, what a treat it was. I'd been incredibly interested in Italian and Roman culture because I studied Latin for a while at North Allegheny, and when the opportunity arose to visit the beautiful country, my sister and I jumped on it. I had the privilege to see Pompeii and snap some nice shots. This is the Temple of Jupiter in front of Mt. Vesuvius - the volcano that buried and destroyed the city in 79 AD.
