For my photomontage project, I have decided to do a piece about, essentially, the concept of humanity's dual nature. The montage itself will contain at least three main elements. The first will be a crowd of people, scattered around the foreground of the montage, each of them focusing on one of two figures at opposite sides of the montage. These two figures, which will be more or less human in appearance, are the second element. The same basic picture will be used for both figures, though contrast editing will be used to create a light vs. dark effect between the two. Along with the figures will be two sets of pictures that will reinforce this effect. The third and final element will be the background of the montage, which will be constructed of some sort of real world scene, color and contrast edited in such a way that it seems real, yet at the same time has a dreamlike quality to it. Taken as a whole, the montage will create the image of a world somewhere between the conscious and subconscious mind, where every person makes the choice between that which is good and that which is bad in human nature.
