Preparing bitmap pictures in Photoshop for Flash MX

Prepare and export layers in Photoshop:

• Open your picture in Photoshop
• Select the portion of the picture you want to use
• Copy
• File> new-(check transparent background) then paste
• erase any additional area you wish to be transparent in Flash
• Save as PNG

Import layers into symbols in Flash

• Insert> New graphic symbol- name symbol
• File> Import (find PNG picture)
