Reason is a loop based sound creator. It comes with 6 built in synths.

Each synth is "played via MIDI". Some of the synths are tone generators, others are sample players.

Reason works with both MIDI and digital audio sounds.

The final product is a digital sound file that can be put on the internet, or used in another application.
